Justification for passing the SAVE America Act has never been clearer. Will they do it?
What about this is so hard to understand?
The question bounced around my brain as I read reports concerning President Donald Trump’s recent speech on elections integrity, where the White House occupant laid out (some of) the evidence his Justice Department – and other agencies – have uncovered regarding voter fraud since he’s been at the nation’s helm.
The numbers are staggering, so much so that reports on the scale of potential scams blend together like so much white noise as the sophistication of the fraud operation is designed to confuse the average person who merely shows up at the voting precinct, punches a few buttons on the electronic tabulating machine and leaves with an “I Voted” sticker to present to their kids.
The fact that hostile foreign governments are in on the “steal” is even more infuriating. So much hubbub was made in the aftermath of the 2016 election on supposed “Russian interference” that Trump’s pleas to pay attention to the reports are going unheeded by a lot of Americans.
Both sides can’t be right. Thankfully, the actualities appear to be on our side. In an article titled, “Homeland Security Found over 250,000 Illegal Aliens Registered to Vote in Just Four States”, Steven Richards (for Just The News) wrote at The Star News Network:
“The [Department of Homeland Security] reviewed voter registrations as part of a Trump administration priority to address concerns about illegal voting in the U.S. using the SAVE system, a controversial citizenship database that includes Social Security numbers. The administration is offering the centralized records to states to identify non-citizens on voter rolls across the country.
“The four states opted not to utilize the SAVE system, prompting the agency to conduct a separate review using publicly available voter records. That review found that ‘over 250,000 non-citizens are illegally registered to vote’ in just those four states.
“’State election officials in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Nevada have been notified of this serious threat to national security and DHS stands ready to support their efforts to identify and remove ineligible registrants,’ the agency wrote in the memo. The agency also said that the probe would expand to include ‘multiple additional states.’”
Do ya think? It always makes me chuckle whenever a Democrat speaks on the House or Senate floor – or appears on an establishment media talk show – and claims that elections fraud is limited or confined, or flat out doesn’t exist.
A quarter million people registered to vote illegally? In just four states?
That’s a lotta living, breathing, possibly voting souls, isn’t it? Common sense implies many of these illegal aliens were automatically registered to vote through motor-voter policies of certain states.
Duh, you allow illegal aliens to get driver’s licenses and you also require the DMV to offer applicants an opportunity to sign up to vote at the same time, and what results? Therefore, tens of thousands of driver’s license holder non-citizens are also being mailed voter information at election time.
Some aliens likely figure placing themselves on the voter rolls is part of the requirement to obtain a legal sanction to drive.
The leftists defend these individuals’ “right” to be here. Do they also swear by their purported ability to vote in elections, too? Probably. It only makes logical sense that they would. And these are mostly the same misguided waifs who advocate so rabidly for “popular vote” presidential elections and abolishing the Electoral College. Tell me how any of this makes sense?
Ask someone you know (and doesn’t live in California): “Do you really want your vote in the next presidential election to potentially be cancelled by an illegal alien in California? Or Oregon? Or Washington (state)? Or Illinois? Or New York City?
To me, the wisdom of the Electoral College concept has never stood on firmer ground. But we must fight to keep the institution, along with every shred of America’s cultural integrity. The task begins with ensuring that only legitimate politicians win office. It won’t be easy. The contrarian forces are out there, and they’re well-funded and foaming at the mouth prepared to defend “rights” illegal aliens don’t possess.
One primary reason why blue states fight to keep from turning their voter rolls over to the feds is because the lists contain hundreds of thousands/millions of physical addresses where the aliens basically open themselves to being located by ICE and, theoretically, captured and eventually deported.
Hence, this is a motivation for leftist groups to rouse their communist/socialist base to agitate, agitate, agitate in favor of stirring public outrage against the “good guys” — the law enforcers.
While the SAVE America Act’s fate still lies in the balance, the news that the legislation generates will eventually reach the ears of those informed and responsible citizens who care about elections integrity. This number presumably includes “moderate” (if there is such a thing anymore) Democrats and liberal libertarians fed up with the voting process being corrupted by states/jurisdictions with lax procedures.
Would this be a big total? Common sense suggests the answer is no, but, with victory margins destined to be small in certain districts, it could make a difference.
Republicans will be aggressive going into this year’s elections, too. From the Washington Examiner: “The NRCC’s target list now includes 36 House districts for its 2026 battlefield. Republicans, who currently hold a trifecta in Washington, are hoping to hold on to their House majority, where Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) holds a razor-thin majority.”
By the same token, make no mistake – Democrats/socialists/communists don’t care half as much about illegal alien “rights” as they do about what would happen to them if Trump and the common-sense citizens successfully cleanse the electoral system. What was it that Michigan Democrat senator Elissa Slotkin blurted out last week?
“[The SAVE America Act] would make it hard for any Democrat in any state to win any election.”
This is true in the larger sense, but even the SAVE America Act’s passage wouldn’t automatically turn the bluest of blue districts red. Or even purple. The election results in New York City and various congressional districts this year made it plain – communists/socialists will do anything necessary to win, and therefore gain or maintain power.
The illegal aliens and their “rights” are secondary to their ideological crusade. Leftists instinctively use humanitarian concerns as a crutch in their attempts to avoid accountability and responsibility. Further, they don’t have good arguments in favor of their position, because the hard evidence is against them.
President Trump’s challenge is to find enough “convincible” voters to listen to the narrative the data tells. Democrats are already so set in their worldview and opinions that they outright refuse to even look at the information the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have uncovered.
Real people are being impacted by the presence of a large population of illegal squatters. While it’s true many illegal aliens came here to take advantage of America’s wealth of economic opportunities, a lot of them came to abuse the system in addition. Democrats aid in the exploitation by making it easy for invaders to “act” like citizens without bothering with the process.
The “birthright tourism” issue is directly related to this matter as well. Households headed by illegal aliens qualify for welfare benefits because their American Citizen children make them eligible for public assistance programs. Therefore, not only are illegal aliens receiving regular checks, they’re able to vote virtually anonymously by mail because of lax mail-in ballot laws with inadequate precautions to ensure a legitimate vote.
Returning to the question I posed at the beginning of this column, what is it about these concepts that’s so hard to understand?
Illegal aliens are, by nature, unfamiliar with America’s laws and customs. They’re not well versed in our system. A good share of them have violently skirted the law. Their votes should not be permitted to cancel those of citizens who’d gone through the bureaucratic procedures… or were born here to parents who were citizens of the United States.
President Trump and Americans who believe in obeying the law aren’t heartless, and they’re not cruel. They’re merely following the commands of those who came before us and made the laws we now live under. They’re guaranteeing equality to everyone who did it the right way.
What’s so hard to understand about that?
