This election isn’t the fundamental issue. The fundamental issue is that we have a political movement which has fully embraced not just revolutionary Marxism as a foundational political ideology but has manufactured and weaponized mental illness as an activating factor. And the Right has not yet internalized this, nor has it settled on an appropriate response it’s willing to buy into. This is a problem a lot bigger than a midterm cycle which can be reversed in two years. It had better be tackled, and soon.
