FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the Trump administration was working to create legislation to target “birth tourism,” the practice of traveling to the U.S. to give birth and secure citizenship. Patel made the remarks during an appearance before Senate lawmakers of the Judiciary Committee. “We are following the federal statutes that we have on the books right now, and we’re working with our partners in Congress to draft new legislation to give us new authorities to make sure that we can combat the threat,” he said.
