The late Sen. Lindsey Graham had moments that gave Republican voters heartburn, but we’re going to dwell on that today. Graham passed away suddenly [on Saturday] night. If there is an all-time great moment from his tenure, it’s when he took a blowtorch to Senate Democrats who attempted to character assassinate nominee Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. It led to some of the nastiest, most contentious Supreme Court hearings since Clarence Thomas. Graham taking a sledgehammer to his Democratic colleagues is for posterity (via Graham’s Senate Office).
