Let’s stop pretending the Left wants what the rest of us want. That hasn’t been true in decades. What they want is power, ostensibly to perfect human society along their prescriptions. Maximum power. And even the exceptionally stupid ones know you can’t get that kind of power by persuading people of your ideas. Those ideas aren’t persuasive, and the people espousing them are less so. And so it takes a lot of broken eggs to make that omelet. Starting with Trump, obviously, but hardly ending there.
