There is no universal, state-mandated answer that will satisfy everyone. Deciding to require a medical procedure for school entry is a philosophical choice as much as a clinical one. On one hand, we have verifiable proof that these shots protect children. On the other, we have a vital commitment to bodily integrity and parental authority. These two ideas are in permanent conflict. The resulting policy usually just reflects who holds political power at any given moment. “What does the science say?” The real question is, “Who gets to decide?”
