The Strait of Hormuz is fully open to commercial vessels and will remain open indefinitely, President Trump stated Friday. “Iran has just announced that the Strait of Iran is fully open and ready for full passage! Thank you!” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz again. It will no longer be used as a weapon against the World!” Trump wrote in a subsequent post. He noted that the “naval blockade will remain in full force and effect” until a final agreement is reached with Tehran.
