The 2028 elections are two years away, and a lot can happen in that time, particularly at the state level, where Democrats consistently fail to deliver on their promises to make life more affordable. But Trump’s arrogance and narcissism have put Democrats within sight of the power to carry out that agenda. Republicans must spend the next two years rebuilding a coalition around competent government and affordable living rather than one man’s ego. The country cannot afford another election fought on Trump’s terms.
